POSITION PURPOSE:
The Batch Operator will be responsible for following batch formulas, weighing and adding raw materials, operating mixing equipment, obtaining Quality Control approval, completing production records, and maintaining a safe and organized production area. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with powders, equipment, dust, noise, and required PPE.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow batch sheets, formulas, raw material codes, and proper addition sequences.
- Weigh, measure, and add raw materials into mixers accurately and safely.
- Operate automatic, semi-automatic, and manual mixing equipment.
- Collect batch samples and work with Quality Control for approval and required adjustments.
- Monitor batch consistency and report any quality, material, or equipment concerns.
- Complete production reports, batch records, maintenance records, calibration logs, and shift handoff information.
- Assist with packaging, packing, palletizing, and other production tasks as required.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, environmental procedures, and PPE requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous manufacturing, batching, mixing, production, cement, powder, chemical, or industrial experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to follow written formulas, work instructions, product codes, labels, and verbal direction accurately.
- Basic math skills, including weights, measurements, fractions, percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Comfortable using or learning production equipment, control panels, computer interfaces, log books, and production systems.
- Forklift certification is considered an asset; training may be provided where required.
- Must be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Must be capable of lifting and handling materials up to 50 lbs regularly, and heavier materials where required and safe to do so.
- Must be reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Manufacturing and production environment with regular exposure to powders, dust, noise, machinery, moving equipment, heat, and chemicals.
- Required PPE may include safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, gloves, safety footwear, and other task-specific protection.
- Overtime, weekend work, or schedule adjustments may be required based on production needs.
