System Engineer

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the organization's server, cloud, and endpoint infrastructure. This role supports a Microsoft-centric environment spanning Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, and cybersecurity technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise server and cloud infrastructure across multiple healthcare sites.
- Administer Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Azure services.
- Manage virtualization environments, enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Support cloud infrastructure, including Azure networking, security, monitoring, governance, and hybrid connectivity.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management, identity and access management, and endpoint security.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and provide third-level technical support.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture standards, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues, vendors, and organizational leaders to deliver technology solutions that support clinical and administrative operations.
- Participate in infrastructure modernization projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide scheduled on-call support for critical systems and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience administering enterprise server and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Entra ID, and Intune.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
- Experience supporting VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity technologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated environment is considered an asset.
Certifications
Candidates should possess one or more Microsoft infrastructure certifications such as:
- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102)
Additional certifications in Azure Architecture, Security, ITIL, or cybersecurity are considered strong assets.
Pay: $74,143.52-$92,679.40 per year
