Shaft Supervisor - (Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Canada)

The Shaft Supervisor will report to the Electrical & Shaft General Foreman.

This position is located in Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:
Be responsible for keeping the hoist and shaft area in a safe operating condition to maintain compliance with the Mines Act and to meet production needs
Ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to
Oversee all electrical and mechanical work on the hoist and shaft equipment by ensuring that regular preventative maintenance programs are followed
Inspect the hoist and shaft area on a timely basis, to ensure the maintenance of a safe operating mode
Engage with other departments to inform them on a routine basis about the matters pertaining to the hoist and shaft area
Organize and coordinate sending equipment and materials underground, as prioritized by department General Foreman
Report all problems of a non-routine nature and recommend equipment purchases and personnel needs to meet the needs of the area
Maintain ongoing contact with service providers on matters pertaining to hoist maintenance/repairs, service, and supplies
Assist and coordinate small repairs and renovations of the Dry building
Supervise all activities of the Hoist and Shaft crews and the Dry crew, including assigning work to meet Company policies, procedures, and standards
Coordinate personnel resources for the operation of the Hoist and Shaft area and the Dry area
Provide a safe workplace by ensuring all site policies and procedures are stringently adhered to
Work with the training department to ensure crew members’ training is completed

What you will bring:
A Journeyperson Certificate or an Engineering Degree or Diploma in a discipline/field relevant to hoist operation
Saskatchewan Supervisory Certificate from the Saskatchewan Department of Labour, or ability to obtain one
Training and several years of experience in underground potash operations and in the operation of a hoist and shaft area
Demonstrated positive safety behavior and safety leadership; demonstrated a high level of commitment to creating a safe working environment
Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach and correct performance where needed
Superior interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essential
Excellent computer skills are required, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
