The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a junior painter to join our production team. A junior painter performs a variety of general painting, preparation, spray-painting and brush painting tasks. This role will also be finishing and re-finishing electric rotating motors, generators, associated components and equipment, including items like metal, plastic, vinyl and wood.
Responsibilities:
- Operation, maintenance and use of paint spray equipment in a controlled (paint booth) environment, selection of spray gun nozzles for required coverage, thickness, smoothness and adherence and associated instrumentation
- Remove pre-existing paint from motors using sandblasting technique
- Mask and prime motors before painting
- Clean and maintain paint equipment after job completion.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of different thinners, inhibitors and their proper use and application.
- Familiar with regulations and procedures for handling and storage of flammable materials
- 1 year experience in related field
- Previous experience using overhead cranes and forklifts.
