Reports to: Director, Enterprise Privacy

Overall Summary:
The Manager, Enterprise Privacy will work under the direction of the Director, Enterprise Privacy to build, implement and operate the Loblaw Privacy Program. The Manager, Enterprise Privacy is responsible for executing on day-to-day privacy risk management activities, including, assisting with: privacy policy and content development, delivering training, performing assessments, compliance reviews and reporting.

Accountabilities:
Support the development of and execute on the Privacy Program components and assessment process (i.e., policies, training, assessments, and reporting).
Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and tools; and upkeep based on changes to privacy laws, industry standards, trends and business objectives.
Serve as a privacy subject matter expert (SME) and/or embedded resource within the business, as required.
Identify and manage privacy risks in day-to-day operations, including within new and existing projects.
Support the Director, Enterprise Privacy by identifying and escalating issues or risks as they relate to privacy, and assisting in the development of program updates for the Privacy Committee, business, functional areas, and Management Board.
Monitor and report on adherence to these policies and instances of noncompliance.
Maintain current knowledge of federal and provincial privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
Assist in the annual privacy policy reviews and review and revise policies as needed.
Administer the document management system for the Privacy Office.
Conduct privacy assessments on any major system, process or business changes, such as, systems implementation, process changes and other new business ventures to ensure appropriate privacy controls are designed and implemented.
Gather relevant information from project teams and review, assess, document findings against requirements and create formal reports pertaining to privacy risk findings.
Provide advice, risk assessment, and recommendations regarding privacy controls to the business, project teams, and other functional areas, as needed.
Support the delivery of privacy training and awareness to colleagues, contractors, and third parties. (I.e. developing privacy communications, training and awareness materials).
Promote a culture of privacy awareness and risk management across the business.
Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with peers and management across the various lines of business.
Support the development, implementation and management of the privacy compliance program working in collaboration with Compliance, Human Resources, ISRM, and Legal as applicable.

Role Requirements:
3+ years’ of working and management experience in Privacy Risk Management.
Post-secondary education at either the college or university level.
Certificate in CIPP and CISSP preferred.
Well versed with federal and provincial Canadian privacy laws as well as knowledge of US and EU privacy laws (e.g. HIPPA and GDPR), with a particular focus on private sector privacy laws.
Experience working within privacy at a retail organization.
Strong knowledge on privacy issues in relation to evolving technology (e.g., mobile, cloud, etc.) and an Omni-channel environment within retail.
Experience designing, implementing and operating a privacy program in a large and complex organization.
Experience with risk assessment/management, security, and compliance, including, experience performing assessment activities around the application of security and privacy controls (e.g., technical, organization and procedural).
Knowledge of risk management, compliance, security, risk governance, and risk assessment frameworks.
Strong organizational, verbal, facilitation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Experience presenting to varying levels of management.
Strong analytical capabilities and ability to synthesize complex information into accessible and meaningful business guidance.
Ability to build and nurture strong working relationships in a fast paced working environment
Ability to understand the inner workings of the business, divisional products & services, objectives, corporate and franchisee relationships, strong business acumen.
Ability to approach situations and challenges with an action-oriented mindset and act decisively.
Takes initiative to identify opportunities, execute results and measure impacts, to improve existing working conditions and processes.
Forward thinking with respect to identifying, assessing and prioritizing risk, issues and challenges.
Demonstrate sound judgement and problem solving skills.
Remain open to new ways of working and experiment with new methods as well as adjust one’s behavior to the changing business environment.
