Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Steel Shop Labourer to join our manufacturing team. This role involves supporting various fabrication and assembly processes within our steel shop environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with manufacturing equipment, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in metalworking and fabrication.
Rate of pay will be based on experience
Responsibilities
- Support welding and assembly tasks to ensure efficient production flow.
- Use hand tools, saws and tape measure to measure and inspect materials for quality assurance.
- Perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material quantities.
- Conduct quality inspections on fabricated parts to meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Ability to stay on task with accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
- Prior experience with crane operation, forklift driving, welding, or machining is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools, saws, basic math skills, and ability to read a tape measure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards are critical for success in this role.
