Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Taper/Painter to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting, with a strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and various painting techniques. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying finishes, and ensuring high-quality results on diverse projects. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, time management abilities, and a commitment to safety and craftsmanship. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply primer and paint using hand tools, power tools, brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute project specifications accurately
- Perform restoration work including surface repairs and finishing touches on various structures
- Utilize rigging techniques for the safe handling of materials and equipment at elevated or hard-to-reach areas
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Assist with the setup of scaffolding or other access equipment as needed for high or complex work areas
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and rigging equipment
- Experience with carpentry or related trades is a plus for surface preparation or minor repairs
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and client interactions
- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines without compromising quality
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to working at heights or with hazardous materials
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude toward clients and team members
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
