Camp Sunflower is hiring people who love kids and want to spend their summer doing crafts, playing games, and doing the Hokey Pokey.
Up to 3 Camp Counsellors ($25/hour). All staff will be provided free bus passes for July and August.
Requirements:
- Loves to work with kids
- Creative
- Flexible
- Team Player - collaborates with other Counsellors and mentors Camp Assistants
- Strong communicator
- Proactive and organized
- Ability to Obtain Clean Criminal Record Check
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR C by first day of work
- Willing to obtain Responsible Adult certification by first day of work (Employer paid)
- Up to date immunizations (including flu shots)
- 19 years of age or older (camp counsellors)
- Fluent in English
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
Preference given to those with:
- Previous experience at summer camps, childcare, and/or children’s recreation programs
- Some level of Ukrainian (The camp in run in English, but many of our campers speak Ukrainian)

Schedule:
- 1 paid training afternoon in late June (TBD)
- Monday-Friday June 29 - Aug 28 (Excluding holidays. Potential extension to Sep 4)
- Shifts are scheduled between 7:45am-5:15pm
- Expected hours are 32-40 hours a week, but may fluctuate based on registration
Dress Code:
** We will supply all staff with uniform shirts that they are expected to wear while working to identify them to campers and parents **
- comfortable clothing that will allow you to move, do crafts, and have fun
- swimming attire for swimming
- closed-toed shoes
- no high heels permitted for safety reasons
- no clothing with offensive language
- employees are asked to use common sense when choosing clothing for the day’s activities that are not unnecessarily revealing.
