Class 1 Driver / Labourer

Job Summary: Loading, transporting and delivering products in a safe, timely and efficient manner while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Lifting and carrying large heavy products daily.
- Preplan loading of trucks, including load securement, to allow efficient and safe deliveries.
- Drive in a safe and courteous manner; observe all commercial carrier and traffic regulations as well as all company procedures and policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Keep company vehicles clean; complete required daily VI’s to ensure they are well-maintained.
- Communicate with customers to update them on delivery times.
- Follows pre-planned routes accurately without deviation from set routing.
- Maintain communication with the Logistics Coordinator/Router to advise of any delays or changes to the delivery, route or schedule.
- Evaluate all delivery sites and perform Site Hazard Assessments to ensure that it is safe for delivery.
- Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Promotes Lux Culture and drive continuous improvement activities to improve business processes.
- Use of electronic log books.
- Able to travel out of Province and away overnight as required.
- Follow all LUX PPE and Safety requirements.
Daily Tasks:
- Partake in Tailgate Meetings at the start of day.
- Complete daily inspections of vehicle before departure and upon return.
- Ensure all items on the shipping manifest are scanned properly onto the truck before departure.
- Secure load(s) for safe transport of product.
- Ensure accuracy by checking that all items for an order are offloaded at the proper delivery location.
- Provide Proof of Delivery photos to the Logistics Coordinator/Router return Manifest & PO’s
Skills Required:
- Valid Class 1 Operators License with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Must have a Clean Commercial Drivers abstract, current (less than 30 days old) and minimum of 3 years history
- Must be Physically fit - heavy lifting required.
- Load/unload your truck with help from your swamper.
