Job Overview
The Communications Coordinator supports the planning, organization, and execution of Association events and Centennial initiatives, with a focus on the Association’s 100th-anniversary celebrations running throughout 2027. This position will be a contract role from September 2026 to end of December 2027.
The critical core competencies in this role are project management, collaboration, creativity, exceptional communication and listening skills, close attention to detail, negotiation skills, and professional demeanour. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a creative, organized, and highly motivated individual with a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.
Key internal relationships are the other RAE department managers and staff. External relationships are the RAE Board of Directors, the REALTORS® Community Foundation (RCF), RAE members who have donated artifacts, approved vendors and service partners.
Duties
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Centennial communications initiatives and projects in alignment with the Association’s strategic objectives and Centennial celebration plan.
- Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, resources, and stakeholder communications across multiple Centennial initiatives occurring throughout 2027.
- Research, write, edit, and coordinate Centennial-related content for digital, print, event, and promotional channels.
- Conduct interviews and develop Stories of Home profiles featuring REALTORS®, clients, historic properties, community stories, and industry milestones.
- Coordinate office visits throughout the Centennial year.
- Develop and coordinate communications content related to REALTORS® Row and the proposed Centennial plaque project.
- Coordinate the planning, promotion, and execution of the Centennial Digital Photo Mosaic initiative, where members will submit photos and stories related to the history of the organization.
- Support planning, scheduling, content development, production coordination, and promotion of Centennial content for quarterly RAEdio podcast episodes.
- Assist with planning, promotion, and execution of Centennial-themed member and public events throughout the year.
- Coordinate development of real estate-themed educational content, trivia questions, and scavenger hunt materials for the Edmonton Corn Maze activation.
- Coordinate production and distribution of Centennial-branded merchandise, promotional products, and apparel.
- Coordinate the production and printing of annual holiday cards and maintain a holiday card recipient list.
- Create and manage Centennial content for office digital displays and interactive television screens.
- Assist with collection, organization, documentation, and promotion of historical artifacts and memorabilia submitted by members.
- Provide regular status updates to the Director of Communications.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Communications or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Basic graphic design skills (ex. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is an asset.
- Knowledge of the real estate industry and its dynamics is also an asset.
- Previous experience working in a non-profit or professional association setting is considered an asset.
- The role may require flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed for events.
- A vehicle is an asset but not required.
This position may require occasional travel within the Greater Edmonton Region for meetings, conferences, or stakeholder engagements. This role will be primarily in-person, Monday-Friday at our offices. On occasion, this position may be required to work outside of regular working hours to support events and Centennial celebrations. The role also involves extended periods of sitting and working on a computer; equipment is provided.
