Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and adherence to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprint reading, and various welding techniques, contributing to the successful completion of complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding on various metal components, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate parts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
- Operate plasma cutters, flame cutting torch, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to create precise components.
- Rig and position materials using cranes or forklifts safely for assembly or welding processes.
- Assist with machining tasks as needed, including using basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Fabricate ductwork, structural components, or custom assemblies for construction or manufacturing projects.
- Follow safety protocols related to welding, rigging, machine operation, and general shop safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency during operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG welding, basic machining, and fabrication processes.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as cranes, forklifts, hand tools, power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with rigging procedures and the use of power tools in a manufacturing or construction setting.
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of schematics related to mechanical systems or ductwork is preferred.
- Ability to operate machining equipment, such as lathes and other fabrication machinery, is a plus.
- Valid certification in welding or fabrication is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
