MMT is an emerging company that develops innovative nondestructive testing (NDT) equipment and support services for field inspection of critical energy infrastructure. Our technology reduces asset integrity risk as well as improves safety and environmental sustainability through innovation. MMT’s technologies provide customers with non-destructive measures of tensile strength and fracture toughness to evaluate the remaining service capacity of critical assets.
Position Description: MMT is seeking a Director of Commercialization to stand up the sales function and lead go-to-market activities associated with our current and upcoming commercial offerings. The role is both an individual contributor accountable for generating revenue and a team leader that will report to the CEO. Role mandate includes regional/international expansion, new market initiatives and developing/supporting grant opportunities. The successful candidate will have a personable management approach focused on the customer, company culture, interdepartmental alignment and enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities:
● Lead all outward-facing market and client relationship activities.
● Prepare and execute go-to-market plans for existing market and for new products in lateral markets
● Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales team – responsible for budgets and forecasting for revenue
● Establish and maintain relationships with service partners
● Collaborate with MMT’s operation and finance teams to establish project budgets and ROI
● Ensure alignment between key objectives for the company and new business initiatives
● Engage directly with customers to present MMT’s progress on new products, collect feedback, and obtain information to assist R&D and accelerate market entry
● Meet objectives negotiated with the CEO related to deadlines and periodic reviews
● Participate in team building and company planning activities as a part of the senior leadership team
● Travel: Up to 50%
Skills & Qualifications:
● 15+ years experience working in progressively responsible roles in sales, marketing and business development
● 10+ years experience in the asset integrity space, including risk management, in industries such as pipeline services (upstream, midstream, downstream), aerospace, nuclear or similar
● Demonstrated experience managing enterprise sales
● Credible experience selling into the oil and gas market is highly desired but not a must have
● Experience in supporting grant funding for R&D and new market development initiatives
● Experience with conducting hands-on market research and developing analytics to track market trends
● Proven technical acumen and communication skills to lead engagements with internal and external stakeholders
● BS/BA in Business, Sales or relevant field
● Proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce
● Experience working in a startup is a plus
Job Location: Candidate can be based anywhere in US or Canada, ideally close to a major airport to facilitate travel to Natick, MA (USA) and to customer locations.
Compensation and Benefits: MMT offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, performance-based bonus, competitive uncapped commission structure, company equity, medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits, PTO, LTD and 401(k).
