Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile and a skilled Oil Burner Mechanic , a Carpenter or a Plumber to join our dynamic maintenance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple disciplines, ensuring the efficient operation, repair, and installation of heating systems, plumbing infrastructure, and carpentry projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with boilers and HVAC systems, and a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining safe, reliable, and high-quality facilities.
Duties
- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain oil burners, boilers, HVAC units, and related mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform plumbing tasks including pipe installation, leak repairs, fixture replacements, and system upgrades.
- Conduct carpentry work such as framing, cabinetry, door/window installation, and general construction projects.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Weld components as needed for repairs or custom fabrications using appropriate welding techniques.
- Troubleshoot appliance malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts used for compliance and future reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of parts inventory.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with contractors, clients, and team members
Skills
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, including pipe fitting and fixture installation.
- Proficiency in welding techniques for metal fabrication and repair tasks.
- Familiarity with boiler operations, HVAC systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing appliance repair and general maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams.
- Construction experience with carpentry tools and building materials.
- Prior mechanic experience in industrial or commercial settings is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
