Advance Paper Box Ltd. is a leading folding carton manufacturer located in Winnipeg, MB, specializing in custom packaging solutions. We serve a broad range of industries, including food, healthcare, and consumer goods across North America. We are looking for a Purchaser to join our team
Purchaser will be responsible for effectively and efficiently sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products and materials, ensuring that they are delivered on schedule at the best quality and price, maintaining raw material inventory for production as well as job-specific material.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of the Company’s products and the needs of internal customers.

Ensure purchase orders are generated for job-specific materials, sub-contractors, packaging supplies, freight, as approved.

Track and maintain purchase order status and weekly reconciliations, monitoring expected dates and updating purchased orders as needed.

Responsible for explaining and reporting on variances and discrepancies.

Work with cross-functional teams regarding manufacturing capabilities, maintenance requests, materials, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes required by the customer (internal/ external)

Expedite orders and shipments as requested based on customer (internal/ external) requirements with a sense of urgency.

Anticipate current and future production needs and manage the procurement cycle.

Assist departments in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products and min/ max inventory levels.

Responsible for planning, developing, and buying materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Manage physical inventory cycle counting and reconciliation process, and reports as required to reflect changing production needs

Provide support to the receiving/shipping department as required

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

Diploma of bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Purchasing.

3-5 years of relevant business or purchasing experience. Experience in printing and packaging is an asset.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with internal customers and vendors.

Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and current internet technologies

Must be organized and able to manage time well, handling multiple tasks and projects.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
