Sales & Community Engagement Lead
Location: Global Pet Foods – Blackfalds, Alberta
Reports To: Franchise Owner

Overview
The Sales & Community Engagement Lead plays a key role in driving store performance, elevating the customer experience, and strengthening community connections. This role supports the franchise owner by overseeing sales coaching, promotional execution, and day-to-day engagement with both customers and the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Coaching
- Lead by example on the sales floor. Model consultative, education-based selling that aligns with Global Pet Foods’ values.
- Coach and mentor team members on sales techniques, upselling, and cross-category recommendations.
- Monitor individual and team performance, providing regular feedback and recognition.
- Collaborate with franchise owner on goal setting, sales challenges, and performance tracking to maintain accountability.
Customer Experience & Conflict Resolution
- Serve as the first point of contact for elevated customer concerns, ensuring timely and professional resolutions. Provide detailed account of concern and solutions offered to Franchise Owner.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and pet-loving store environment that encourages customer loyalty.
- Maintain a strong understanding of pet nutrition and store products to offer informed solutions.
Community & Promotional Engagement
- Strategize with franchise owner to coordinate and execute in-store and local marketing events (adoption days, seasonal promotions, community events)
- Build relationships with local partners such as veterinarians, groomers, and rescue organizations.
- Manage social media content coordination and community outreach with the owner’s guidance.
- Ensure timely setup and execution of all promotional displays and marketing materials.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with the owner on merchandising and inventory feedback to support optimal stock levels.
- Maintain store standards and assist with opening/closing responsibilities.
- Support training of new hires and help maintain consistent operational procedures.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail or sales experience (pet industry preferred).
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Passion for pets and genuine enthusiasm for pet wellness and nutrition.
- Proven ability to handle customer concerns professionally and diplomatically.
- Comfortable coordinating small community events and social media engagement.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
