Position Title: Data Project Manager

Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Data Project Manager that will actively coordinate and execute research and data management projects across Canada, with a focus on Indigenous history and cultural research. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day movement of projects by building detailed schedules, assigning tasks, tracking deliverables, monitoring budgets, and following up directly with team members to ensure deadlines are met.
You will work collaboratively to enhance efficiency and support all functional areas. Developing and implementing communications and reporting strategies you will also manage schedules, budgets, resourcing, compliance and risk management with the support from a Project Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Execution:

Develop and oversee comprehensive data project plans, including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Lead teams to meet critical milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholder objectives.

Build and maintain project schedules, task trackers, and workflows.

Assign and monitor tasks to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.

Track budgets, expenses, risks, and issues; escalate and support resolution.

Coordinate approvals, documentation, and ensure files area accurate and audit-ready
Team Management:

Lead team meetings, set agendas, document action items, and ensure follow-up.

Provide day-to-day direction to remove blockers and maintain project momentum.

Coordinate cross-functional collaboration and monitor team capacity.

Guide and mentor team members to support strong performance and accountability
Stakeholder Engagement:

Maintain transparent and culturally sensitive communication with clients, communities, and partners.
