The Sales Manager will be responsible for creating, developing, and driving sales for Bunzl's Safety. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate sales activities with Sales Representatives, including the development of sales strategies and communication. The Sales Manager will manage a regional outside sales team that will drive to increase sustainable profitable sales and margins. They will manage their teams’ sales and gross margin goals.
Responsibilities:
- Drive a strong customer service mentality and continue to build current customer relationships.
- Develop and deploy sales and customer-specific sales strategies.
- Identify, qualify and sell to new customers.
- Introduce and sell product innovation to current customers and target accounts with ongoing growth to ensure meeting or exceeding established expectations.
- Introduce and sell product categories to current customers who purchase elsewhere.
- Replace competitive products of non-preferred vendors with preferred vendor products.
- Upsell current customers to new or replacement products available.
- Introduce and implement new services that help improve our customer's business.
- Price Management
- Create, develop, and manage territory plans (account alignment)
- Assist the Director of Sales with developing a sales budget.
- Focus on sustainable profitable organic sales growth with strategically selected customers.
- Manage the team's Sales Performance Metrics & Sales activity. Maintain leadership of regional Sales efforts (via our CRM system and 7 Profitable Sales Growth initiatives)
- Coach, mentor & train staff using Bunzl’s LEAP process and supporting it with our Skill & Development Plans
- Analyze the Sales metrics, activity & behavior of the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of professional experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in a B2B Industrial environment with a proven track record selling in competitive markets
- Previous supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to understand the market in which you are selling and the deployment of resources that ensure maximum coverage and product exposure.
- Proficient PC skills required, in Microsoft Office.
