DEFINITION OF WORK

As part of the corporate leadership team, this position recommends policy direction, researches policy impacts and provides sound policy advice on all policy matters that affect the operations of WorkplaceNL. This position proposes and maintains the annual policy plan and is responsible for policy development, review, renewal and stakeholder engagement under WorkplaceNL's Policy Framework.

Responsible for the maintenance, renewal and communication of WorkplaceNL's Research Program. This position implements and oversees an appropriate process to invite and vet proposals and to recommend proposals for approval through to the Governance Committee of the Board. This position ensures there are sufficient funds available in WorkplaceNL's research fund and ensures the accountability of and results from research funding recipients. This position acts as WorkplaceNL's representative on any external research related initiatives or partnership with another entity.

Provides overall operational direction to ensure effective and efficient management of the internal review process, third party determinations, information protection, access, disclosure and quality assurance. This position is accountable for quality assurance, identifies appropriate key performance indicators and reports on same. This position acts as a liaison with the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Review Division to ensure the efficient and effective administration of the appeal system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in commerce or social sciences;
Five-years' of management experience with an emphasis on policy development;
Ability to work independently; ability to work with and motivate people;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Experience and an educational equivalency may be considered.
SALARY $83,716 - $108,831
