BACKUP Salesperson/Driver Position - Vancouver
First off, thank you for your interest in this position!
The Compactor is a dumpster compaction service operating in Ottawa, Gatineau, and Calgary.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
Alex
Owner/Operator
The Compactor is a revolutionary waste management service that uses specialized trucks to compact/crush trash in roll-off dumpsters. Clients gain more use out of their dumpster and the number of hauls to the dump are reduced. This helps organizations cut costs and provides a greener approach to current waste management solutions.

- You need to be dependable and available on short notice.
- Is comfortable using technology and apps like Jobber, Pipedrive, and others;
- Takes good care of our equipment.
Your day-to-day:
- Doing a daily inspection of the Truck and Compactor, filling out the report, and communicating with us any defects (the trucks are new but that doesn’t mean there won’t be issues);
- Running scheduled routes and compactions (more details on what this means later). Photos and details have to be uploaded to our system for every job. You are expected to try to rebook clients when possible.
- Communicating with us throughout the day, whether it’s about completed bookings, general updates, issues with clients or equipment, fun chatter(!!), and so on. It’s a very dynamic business and market, we have to communicate a lot at all times of the day.
Details:
- Temporary/Sporadic employment;
- Could lead to full-time employment if we bring a 2nd truck to Vancouver full-time (a possibility);
- Available July 2-3 and/or Aug 4-7, and on for last minute calls if driver is absent (Case by case);
- Early morning start times (7am or so) and late end times (6pm or so) are a possibility, depending on clients’ needs, although this seems to be very rare (neither of these times have happened yet). Most days are 8am-4pm or so.
