Performs a variety of tasks depending on current operational needs. These tasks include, but are not limited to, providing technical work for the repair shop team, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and the repair of all issued man worn and vehicle equipment of the Weapon Effects System (WES) equipment. Operating a computer to maintain inventory, records and schedules. Use of technical manuals, drawings, schematics and handbooks.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifies and analyzes WES equipment malfunctions and utilizes various maintenance and repair manuals, test equipment, wiring diagrams, schematics and verbal instructions to re-work, repair, test, troubleshoot and maintain WES hardware equipment.
Identify and report on required consumable items and spare parts to support repairs of equipment.
Maintain and repair circuitry of electronic systems according to engineering instructions and technical manuals.
Maintain and repair all mechanical aspects according to engineering instructions and technical manuals.
Use both a personal computer and a computer controlled test set to carry out work functions.
Maintain repair shop areas focusing on efficiency and safety.
Inspect items for damage.
Repair and check all equipment problems and will determine if repair is software, hardware or both.
All WES equipment is diagnosed and repaired on site or sent to third line if required.
Conduct all preventative repairs during annual maintenance period.
Utilized in Field Service Representatives roles when it is necessary for installing equipment and teaching scenarios as per exercise requirements.
Work with the engineering departments for upgrades, trials, developing new equipment, testing and acceptance.
May provide mentorship and training to Repair Technicians

Minimum Job Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent plus a minimum of five years relevant experience. Must have the electrical and mechanical ability to carry out repairs of equipment. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationship of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and test equipment. Must have valid driver’s license. Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical ability to walk, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, and to climb stairs is required. Requires the ability to lift 75 pounds. Requires bending, reaching, and fitting into tight places to perform normal duties. Available to travel nationally on a regular basis during military training periods as well as possibility of international (US) travel. Bi-lingual capability may be preferred (Eng/Fr). Requires proof of the right to work in Canada. Requires a probationary period of 3 months. Requires a security background check made by the Canadian Authorities.
