At Fence & Post, we do things differently.
We’re an independent, chef-owned restaurant in Cochrane, Alberta, built around scratch cooking, local ingredients, and genuine hospitality. We bake our own sourdough, cure our own meats, make our own ice cream, and work closely with Alberta farmers, ranchers, and producers to create food we’re proud to serve.
We’re looking for a strong Evening Grill Cook who loves the energy of service, takes pride in cooking proteins properly, and wants to be part of a kitchen where quality still matters.
This isn’t a corporate kitchen and it isn’t a place to just punch a clock. We’re looking for someone who wants to sharpen their craft, contribute to a team, and take ownership of their station.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running the grill station during dinner service
- Cooking steaks, burgers, fish, and proteins with consistency and precision
- Maintaining high standards of plating and execution during busy services
- Assisting with daily prep and station setup
- Managing ticket flow and communication with the kitchen team
- Keeping your station clean, organized, and service-ready at all times
- Following proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Helping ensure every guest receives a meal we’re proud to put our name on
What We’re Looking For
- Previous line cooking experience (grill experience is a major asset)
- Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Reliability and consistency — your team needs to be able to count on you
- Pride in your work and a willingness to learn
- Someone who enjoys being part of a small, hardworking team
