About us:
Professional Custom Homes is a fast-paced, opportunity-rich company that is now hiring for the position of Construction Site Supervisor.
We are an inner-city builder company since 2013 and pride ourselves in being a friendly, collaborative, team-oriented and supportive company to work for. The ideal candidate should display the following qualities: strong leadership and decision-making skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, as well as technical knowledge and industry expertise. They must be highly organized, collaborative, and proficiently manage safety onsite.
As the Construction Site Supervisor you will be working closely with the construction team (trades people, and subcontractors), the internal team (CEO, project coordinators, and general manager), as well as third party vendors (suppliers, etc.). The successful candidate will manage their construction sites, manage schedules, nurture and maintain positive working relationships, deliver regular progress to their superiors and other stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Job Description:
Skills Required:
The site supervisor must take charge of the project, driving site movement by ensuring tasks are completed on time and by managing the workforce effectively. They must make quick decisions that keep the project moving forward while minimizing downtime.
Clear and open communication with all trades, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders is critical. A site supervisor must convey expectations, timelines, and any changes to ensure everyone is aligned and the work progresses as planned.
Construction sites are dynamic, and unexpected issues often arise. A competent site manager needs to identify problems quickly—whether related to logistics, material delays, safety concerns, or workmanship—and solve them on the spot to avoid delays. This requires a practical, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
A deep understanding of construction processes, tools, materials, and safety regulations is essential. This enables the supervisor to foresee potential issues, review work quality, and provide guidance to the trades.
Managing multiple tasks, trades, and schedules simultaneously is a key aspect of the role. A successful site supervisor must prioritize tasks, coordinate resources efficiently, and ensure all activities are completed on schedule, avoiding costly delays.
Small mistakes can lead to significant problems in construction. A diligent site supervisor must have a keen eye for detail to inspect work quality, ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and address potential issues before they escalate.
Leading a construction team requires the ability to build positive relationships, foster teamwork, and motivate workers to achieve their best. A strong site supervisor knows how to create a productive environment by recognizing achievements and addressing issues in a constructive way.
Ensuring site safety is paramount. An effective construction site supervisor enforces safety protocols, conducts regular inspections, and addresses any safety concerns immediately to protect the workforce and maintain compliance with legal requirements.
