Responsibilities
- Compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances for workpieces.
- Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, drawings, maps, and specifications.
- Lay out, shape, and assemble patterns from blueprints, models, or templates using metal, wood, plastic, and other materials.
- Position, secure, measure, and prepare metal stock or castings for machining.
- Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders).
- Program and operate CNC machine tools to produce precision components.
- Machine castings and produce accurately shaped models, core boxes, and molds.
- Test prototypes and production tools, then inspect and verify finished parts for conformance using precision measuring instruments.
- Fabricate and fit jigs, fixtures, gauges, and dies; perform final inspection and adjustments.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas; follow all shop safety procedures.
Experience and specialization (preferred)
- Metal mould-making experience, including work on:
- Blow molds, injection molds, compression molds, transfer molds.
- Patternmaking experience, including plastics patternmaking.
- Tool and die fabrication experience, such as:
- Gauge blocks, jigs and fixtures, cutting/forming/bending dies, compound or progressive transfer dies, forging dies, extrusion dies.
- Experience programming and running CNC machines and reading complex tooling drawings.
Work conditions and physical capabilities
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Frequent handling of heavy loads; must be physically capable of lifting and moving materials safely.
- Manual dexterity and good hand–eye coordination.
- High attention to detail and consistent accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in noisy, dusty shop conditions.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
