About the Role:
SkyWest Environmental Inc. is seeking an experienced, safety-focused professional to combine Project Management and Business Development responsibilities. This role will manage project delivery for earthworks, site preparation, and environmental contracting while building and maintaining client and Indigenous community partner relationships on behalf of SkyWest. A primary focus will be expanding the company’s presence in the oil and gas sector.
This position will act on behalf of SkyWest and Indigenous community partners, representing company interests and supporting collaborative project delivery, local engagement, and business growth.
Compensation will be based on the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, leadership abilities, business development track record, and overall fit for the role.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution from mobilization to demobilization, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
· Coordinate equipment, crews, subcontractors, materials, and site logistics
· Ensure projects meet scope, quality, safety, and budget targets; maintain daily reports and documentation
· Enforce environmental controls and safety programs; conduct toolbox talks and site inspections
· Identify and pursue new business and contract opportunities, with a priority on oil and gas sector growth
· Prepare project estimates, proposals, and bid packages in collaboration with operations
· Build and maintain client, Indigenous community partner, and stakeholder relationships; support contract negotiation and handover to operations
· Represent SkyWest and Indigenous partners in stakeholder meetings and community engagement
· Monitor market/tender opportunities and provide input to company strategy
Qualifications
· 5+ years of combined experience in project management and business development, preferably in civil construction, earthworks, pipeline, or environmental contracting
· Proven experience supervising heavy equipment work and managing crews and subcontractors
· Strong commercial skills in estimating, proposal development, and client negotiation
· Strong computer skills are required, including MS Office and Excel estimating/spreadsheet proficiency; experience with project management and scheduling software is an asset
· Safety certifications, including WHMIS and First Aid, are required; COR or equivalent is an asset. Pipeline/oil and gas safety credentials, including H2S, CSTS, and Ground Disturbance, are advantageous.
· Valid driver’s licence and reliable availability for travel
· Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills, with cultural sensitivity and experience working with Indigenous communities
· Preference for candidates located in or near the Cariboo Region, BC
