Cook
North Pond Manor by Kirby Retirement Living is located in Torbay, NL. Working at the direction of the Manager, the Cook will be critical in the daily preparation and delivery of the resident dining experience. The successful candidate must have a friendly, professional attitude, and the ability to work as a team in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Complying with all food preparation standards, and health & safety requirements
- Operate a dishwasher to wash then store dishes, and wash larger items by hand
- Carry out basic cleaning tasks around the premises
- Assist with inventory counts when required
- Receive, verify, and promptly store deliveries when necessary
- Maintain floors, walls, work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications or Skills Required:
- Cook - 1 year (preferred) - Some Baking Experience (preferred)
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Organized, with a strong understanding of safety and sanitation practices
- Comfortable meeting strict time constraints
- Able to lift upwards of 50lbs
