Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Level 1-2 Apprentice Mechanic to join our shop. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills in repairing and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and automotive systems. As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced mechanics, gaining valuable knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of equipment across various sectors. This paid position is ideal for individuals eager to kick-start their career in mechanics and machinery maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers and heavy equipment such as excavators and machinery.
- Support the repair and replacement of mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
- Learn to operate heavy machinery safely during routine tasks or when assisting with assembly and disassembly processes.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all maintenance activities to ensure a secure work environment.
- Document work performed accurately in maintenance logs and reports for tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with senior mechanics to develop skills in troubleshooting.
Experience
- Previous automotive repair experience is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Exposure to heavy equipment operation such as excavators or other machinery is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments is essential.
Rate will start at $20.00/hour, depending on experience.
This shift will be from 2:00pm to 11:00pm, Monday-Friday.
