Neighbourhood Dance Works
Neighbourhood Dance Works (NDW) is seeking three motivated, detail-oriented, and community-minded young people for 9-week summer positions supporting festival production, communications, and site-based performance programming. These roles provide hands-on experience in professional arts administration, event production, and public engagement within a contemporary dance festival context.
All positions are supported through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

Job Description
Supports creation residency and Vertical Dance Week programming, including site-based logistics, event operations, FOH support, and audience experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residency and Vertical Dance Week logistics
- Assist with front-of-house (FOH) operations and audience experience
- Support participant registration, welcome and check-in systems
- Assist with event setup and teardown
- Provide logistical support for site-specific and vertical dance activities
- Maintain safety and operational readiness during events
Skills, Qualifications & Assets
Required Skills
- Comfortable working in active, outdoor, and physically demanding environments
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures in live event settings
- Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability
- Basic problem-solving skills in fast-changing environments
Assets
- Interest or experience in dance, site-specific performance, or outdoor arts
- Familiarity with climbing gear or rigging equipment (e.g., carabiners)
- Experience in events, FOH, or production support
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with tri-lock carabiners or interest in rigging/safety systems
