Reporting to the Program Director, this management position requires a successful track record of three years in a management and leadership role with a direct report team, managing change, and meeting goals and targets. The successful candidate will possess sound knowledge and experience in the area of addictions assessment and treatment, in addition to the ability to understand the scope of case management/advocacy roles and lead in the developmental services field. The Manager will demonstrate a proven record of strong clinical supervision, particularly in situations of client risk. The ability to mediate and resolve conflict at the earliest opportunity is an expectation for all management positions. The Manager will monitor and be accountable for program goals and statistics across several funding bodies, and use relevant databases. The Manager demonstrates knowledge of human resources skills by participating in hiring and by interpreting the collective agreement. The Manager actively represents the agency in the community and engages with the addictions and developmental services communities. The Manager contributes to the implementation of the agency’s Vision and Values.
§ HBA, HBSW, MA or MSW in social sciences, with addictions diploma or post graduate training.
§ Certification, or eligibility in the GAINS screening/assessment tools.
§ Registration with a professional college that grants the privilege to practice psychotherapy in the province of Ontario.
§ Assertiveness skills that are applied across teams, including within and exterior to the agency.
§ Ability to prioritize work, pre-screen and triage client assignments, as well as multi-task in a busy environment.
§ Willingness to be trained to perform additional supervisory duties in Walk In clinic, in addition to back up responsibilities with Violence Against Women (VAW), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), sexual assault, PAR/PIP/Changing Patterns in the absence of the Program Director.
§ Bilingualism desirable, however not essential.
