Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Foot Care Nurse to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized foot care services to diverse patient populations across various settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a certificate in Advanced Foot Care with a focus on foot and lower extremity health, combined with excellent patient care skills and clinical expertise.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive foot assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with complex foot conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including case management and pain management strategies.
- Utilize electronic health records systems such as CompanyOn.
- Educate patients and their families on foot health, preventive measures, and post-treatment care.
- Assist with laboratory procedures related to foot infections or other relevant diagnostics when necessary.
- Provide compassionate care to diverse populations, including seniors in hospice or assisted living settings, pediatric patients, and individuals with dementia or mobility challenges
- Maintain clinical competence through ongoing education and adherence to healthcare standards.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license with current registration.
- Valid G driver's license.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.
- Valid Advanced Foot Care Nurse certificate.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and wound management techniques is an asset.
- Experience working with special populations, such as dementia patients, pediatrics, seniors requiring assisted living or hospice care, is an asset.
- Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on compassion and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
