Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain an RCMP security clearance may involve, but is not limited to, a security/reliability interview, a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity, verification of credit/financial status, reference checks, education, employment history, online activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc., and may require certain residency requirements.

Conditions of employment

Possession of and ability to maintain Royal Canadian Mounted Police Enhanced Reliability Status

Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Canadian driver’s licence (Class 5 or equivalent)

Operational Requirements

Willing and able to work standby duty, shift work,
and overtime on short notice

Willing and able to wear required Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with
safety rules

Willing and able to travel using commercial or
government transportation services when required

Willing and able to work outdoors in varying
weather conditions, including extreme heat and
cold

Willing and able to perform physically demanding
tasks, including standing for prolonged periods,
climbing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 25 kg,
bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, and
working in uncomfortable positions and spaces,
including high places such as ladders, scaffolds, and
lift trucks

Willing and able to attend and successfully
complete required safety training, including but
not limited to: Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Fall
Arrest, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, Arc Flash,
First Aid, CPR, and AED training

Willing and able to comply with all safety
procedures and operational standards

Possession of at least one valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in either Refrigeration/HVAC, Millwright, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, IV Class or better Power Engineer

Experience using computer applications such as email and word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Outlook and Word
