We are looking for a permanent full-time Electronic Designer to join our Research and Development department. In this role, the candidate would apply their technical expertise in the design and development of leading-edge safety and communications devices for mining and other demanding industrial environments.
Job Description
This position will be primarily responsible for analog and digital circuit design, embedded system design, and system architecture. Key responsibilities include schematic capture, PCB layout, microcontroller programming, and interface design.
Education
The successful candidate will hold a degree from an accredited university in one of the following disciplines:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar discipline
- Bachelor of Science in Physics
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design or similar discipline
Required Technical Skills
This position will require a moderate level of capability in the following areas:
- Analog circuit design
- Digital circuit design
- PCB layout
- Switching regulator design
- 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers
- Programming in C and Java
- Use of electronic test equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with one or more of the following would be considered an asset:
- PIC microcontrollers (MPLAB X IDE)
- Altium Designer
- Android / Android Studio
- VScode
- Python
- MQTT
- Solidworks
- Matlab
- Spice Simulation
- RF circuit design
- J1939/CAN communications
Additional Requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Some domestic and international travel will be required
- Must be willing and able to work in an underground environment

- Salary $65K-$90K (will be commensurate with experience and abilities)
