Absolutely — I’d make this feel much more like The Green Room and less like a generic bartender posting. You’re looking for someone who is part bartender, part host, part cocktail nerd — and importantly, someone confident enough to own the bar solo when required.
BARTENDER — THE GREEN ROOMBelow The James | James Street North, Hamilton
The Green Room is opening — and we’re looking for bartenders who take cocktails seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
Hidden below The James, The Green Room is a new evening cocktail lounge built for after-work drinks, pre-event starts, later rounds and whatever happens next.
Expect serious cocktails, music that moves with the night, creative bites and unmistakable Green Room energy.
We’re looking for experienced bartenders who are genuinely passionate about the craft — people who know the classics inside and out but are equally excited about pushing boundaries, experimenting with ingredients and techniques, and creating modern cocktails that guests haven't experienced before.
From a perfectly executed Old Fashioned or Negroni to clarification, infusions, foams, fat-washing, house-made ingredients and other modern cocktail techniques, we want bartenders who are curious, creative and always interested in learning what’s next.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You have at least 3 years of bartending experience, ideally in a cocktail lounge, upscale restaurant or high-level bar environment.
But experience alone isn't enough.
You need to have amazing energy.
The Green Room is intimate, which means the bartender helps set the entire tone of the room. You should be warm, engaging and confident behind the bar, able to read guests, create an experience and make people want to stay for another round.
You must also be comfortable working independently and running the bar on your own when required. That means managing your bar, maintaining service standards, preparing cocktails efficiently, engaging guests, staying organized and keeping the room's energy alive without needing constant direction.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is genuinely passionate about cocktails and cocktail culture
- Has strong knowledge of traditional and classic cocktails
- Is excited by modern and experimental cocktail techniques
- Loves developing new drinks and playing with flavour
- Has excellent spirits, wine and beverage knowledge
- Understands upscale service and hospitality standards
- Can confidently manage a bar independently
- Is organized, clean and meticulous about their station
- Works quickly without sacrificing quality
- Has a naturally outgoing, engaging personality
- Can read a room and adapt their service accordingly
- Brings personality and energy without making the experience about themselves
- Wants to contribute ideas and help build something new
ABOUT THE GREEN ROOM
The Green Room sits underneath The James, a lively public eatery built for easy meals, nights out and everything in between — comfort classics with bold global flavours, drinks worth staying for and an experience designed to be craved, shared and talked about.
Downstairs, things change.
The lights get lower.
The cocktails get more serious.
The music gets a little louder.
Welcome to The Green Room.
ABOUT B SOCIAL HOSPITALITY
The James and The Green Room are part of B Social Hospitality, a growing collection of distinctive restaurants and bars across Hamilton, Ancaster, Stoney Creek and Burlington.
Our restaurants are built around great food, great drinks, memorable spaces and, most importantly, great hospitality.
We're not looking for someone who simply wants another bartending job.
We're looking for someone who wants to help build The Green Room.
If you're obsessed with cocktails, love hospitality, bring incredible energy behind the bar and want the freedom to create, experiment and make the room your own, we want to meet you.
