Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Carpenter Helper to assist experienced carpenters in various construction and woodworking projects. This role involves supporting the installation, repair, and maintenance of structures, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in the carpentry trade and related construction disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, siding, roofing, and masonry tasks as directed
- Aid in cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, and woodworking projects
- Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and other construction machinery safely and effectively
- Perform general construction tasks including caulking, painting preparation, heavy lifting, and assembly work
- Support plumbing and electrical work under supervision when required
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on site
Experience
- Prior experience or background in construction is preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is a plus
- Knowledge of woodwork, cabinetry installation, siding or restoration projects is beneficial
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools confidently
- Experience with construction painting or caulking is desirable
- Basic electrical or plumbing experience can be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
