Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily business activities and ensure the smooth functioning of our retail or service operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a proven track record in retail management, team supervision, and customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, implement strategic initiatives, and drive operational excellence across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily store or branch operations, ensuring high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
- Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory management to maximize sales and profitability
- Supervise staff recruitment, onboarding, training & development, and performance evaluations
- Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Coordinate purchasing activities and POS system management to streamline sales processes
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing clients
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints effectively, and maintain excellent phone etiquette
- Conduct interviews for potential hires and participate in hiring decisions
- Monitor sales performance metrics and develop action plans to meet or exceed targets
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Utilize strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and contract negotiations
- Lead team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and training initiatives
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or store supervision with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising software, bookkeeping tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in recruiting, training & development, sales management, budgeting, and marketing strategies
- Ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive team environment
- Strong negotiation skills with vendors and clients
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette mindset
- Demonstrated ability in time management, problem-solving, and decision-making under pressure
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, pricing strategies, cash handling procedures, and administrative processes
