Position: Manager, Content & Community (14 Month Contract)

Job Overview:
The Content Manager is a member of the Longo’s Marketing team, and is responsible for the development, curation and execution of the Longo’s digital and social marketing strategy. This role will plan and lead various projects to expand our company’s digital footprint, thought leadership and website traffic. This role is comfortable taking a hands-on approach to all elements of the content marketing plan, from strategy development through to creation and distribution.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead content production and content curation for Experience Magazine as well as social and digital channels
  • Working with Director, develop and align a multi-channel content strategy with key stakeholders
  • Write, edit, produce and curate content to support the execution of the content strategy
  • Develop and execute a content management plan around seasonal trends
  • Manage timelines for creative and content updates on social & digital platforms
  • Assist in the design and testing of new website functionality
  • Work with vendor partners on content strategy and ensure strong execution of vendor programs
  • Manage editorial calendar to align with the overall marketing plan
  • Proofread, fact check and edit content developed by external partners to ensure content is on-brand and of high quality
  • Leverage customer and SEO/SEM insights during the content creation process.
  • Ensure all social and digital marketing content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search, accessibility and social sharing where appropriate.
  • Oversee and provide ongoing support to Customer Care team as it relates to social media monitoring as the social media management tool product owner.
Recommendations and Implementation

  • Proactively identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve the guest experience and content strategy execution
  • Develop and implement best practice approaches for content marketing
Education and Industry Monitoring

  • Help drive business decision-making by educating and informing Longo’s teams on content marketing - terminology, concepts, trends, insights, and recommendations
  • Educate senior leadership on the benefits and values of content marketing
  • Stay up to date on latest industry developments and trends
Cross Functional Accountabilities and Authority

  • Partner with internal teams, merchandisers and vendor partners to create best-in-class content
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute content marketing campaigns
  • Partner with digital analyst to optimize content across all channels
  • Oversee product images and content to ensure updates are made accurately and on time
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
What we’re looking for:
  • 5+ years of experience developing content strategy, preferably within a retail environment (or for retail customers on the agency side)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Fluency in web analytics tools (Google Analytics), social media marketing applications (Sprout Social etc.) and leading social media monitoring platforms
  • Outstanding writing, messaging, copywriting and proofreading skills with published content in online media.
  • Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic technical understanding of HTML and strong SEO skill, including the ability to ensure all content is SEO optimized
  • A storyteller with an exceptional ability to think strategically and creatively, staying on-brand with tone and voice
  • Strong understanding of e-mail marketing, social media (Facebook & Instagram especially) and how to get users to engage with digital content
  • Understanding of how content marketing, PR, e-mail marketing and social media interact and drive overarching business objectives and guest experience design goals
Work Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment with participation in meetings
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities with regular deadlines
  • Occasional travel to external meetings and stores may be required
