Reporting to the Manager or designate, and working as part of a interdisciplinary team, provides therapeutic nutritional care to Home & Community Care clients, at high nutritional risk, in a variety of living situations within VIHA,
In addition, consultation may be provided to operators and staff/caregivers in areas such as Supportive Living, Contracted Home Support Agencies, private homes and designated group homes. Performs duties covered by Restricted Activities A and C. Travel is a requirement of this job. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and requires the use of a personal vehicle.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and Dietetic Internship from a facility accredited by Dietitians of Canada. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Dietitian required. Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC).
Two years of clinical nutrition experience within the past five years in Home Care or one year of experience in acute care plus one year in Home care or Residential Care Valid BC Driver's License.
Proof of competency in Restricted Activity A & C. Must be registered with Restricted Activity A & C.
