Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Customer Service team member to join our vibrant coffee shop. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Previous barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure you excel in your role.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate cash handling and order processing
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide excellent customer service to enhance the overall experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately using basic math skills and cashiering procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including food handling and food safety practices
- Assist with food preparation and food service as needed
- Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Restock supplies and assist in maintaining an organized workspace
Experience
- Previous experience as a barista and in the food industry is mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the role
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
- Experience in serving, cashiering, or food handling is advantageous
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy are essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food preparation techniques is desirable

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
