Position Summary:
The Dock Attendant will perform a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the docks. The Dock Attendant will work in a safe and efficient manner while providing a high level of customer service to all guests. This position reports to the Dock Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide amazing hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in RESPECT Service System
- Manage guest traffic flow on and off the docks
- Follow safety protocols to ensure the protection of passengers and the vessel
- Handle lines to moor vessels to dock
- Ensure docks are clean and free of any debris
- Answer general inquiries and provide information about facility
- Immediately report any incidents or safety concerns to Dock Manager
- Provide amazing customer service and assist guests with questions or concerns and relay information to Dock Manager
- Assist Food & Beverage team with daily food delivery and restock of boats
- Follows all safety policies, departmental policies, and service standards
- Adheres to all health and safety regulations
- Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time
- Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
- Additional job duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:
- O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
- Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
- Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
- If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
- Valid Ontario driver's license, Class G2 or higher
- Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
- Will work for extended periods of time without sitting
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms)
- Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays
