CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer – Days, Evenings or Weekends

Answer Precision Technologies invites applications from interested, qualified individuals for the position of a full time CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

Training will take place on Day shift (7:00am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday) for approximately 4 weeks and then permanent shift will begin. On Days 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours), Afternoons 3:30pm to 2am Monday to Thursday (40 hours) or Weekends Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6am to 6:30pm (36 hours + 4 hour bonus)

Nature & Scope of Position:

Under the general direction of the CNC Manager, the CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer will primarily be responsible to operate and program CNC Lathe to perform various machining operations.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations
  • Clean and maintain work space
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery

Qualifications:

  • A college diploma from a recognized institution or a minimum high school diploma with relevant experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred three (3) years’ experience running a CNC Lathe.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills in dealing effectively with internal stakeholders such as Project Management, Design and Manufacturing
  • Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Cimatron experience an asset.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc).
  • Ability to work in fast paced / team environment.
