Overview:
Speech Associates is hiring for a part or full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) or Communicate Disorders Assistant (CDA) position to join our team in providing clinical services to children, youth, and adults requiring Speech Therapy services. In this contract-based position, you will have the opportunity to work with clients alongside a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract-based position offers flexibility and autonomy for speech therapy providers seeking to personalize their work life and care services.
We are looking for an SLP-A or CDA for in-person therapy in client homes, schools, and daycares to help us meet the support needs of clients in the community. The SLP-A or CDA will have previous experience providing speech therapy to children or adults, and will demonstrate skills and knowledge of the various conditions, needs, and areas of support pertaining to these populations.

Speech Associates contracts over 100 clinicians including Speech Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists, ABA Therapists, and Board-Certified Behavioural Analysts. Our Therapists work via virtual, hybrid, and in-person traveling options, while our Administrative Staff proudly support and facilitate the provision of care.
About the Role:
As an SLP-A or CDA, your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing clinical services to clients referred to you in collaboration with our Speech-Language Pathologists, and based on your experience, preferences, and service delivery options. You will be required to record data and document progress through detailed SOAP notes on our online platform, Alayacare, as well as actively communicating with Speech Associates leadership, staff, and your supervising SLP.
We are looking for a Communicative Disorders Assistant or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to provide early intervention for children and paediatric clients, assisting to promote development and supporting communication needs. In this role, you will be providing direct clinical services to implement client-specific speech and language intervention techniques as instructed by your supervising SLP. You will be administering therapy in the clients home, or community setting to ensure maximum comfort for the client, and provide the best chance at success in implementing speech and communication therapy.
Caseload size and hours are dependent on capacity and demand. Expected hours include a minimum of 10 hours per week, ranging up to a full-time caseload.
Our clientele includes individuals of all ages, needs, and capabilities. Speech Associates provides care services for children and youth on the autism spectrum, adults requiring post-stroke speech treatment, and any persons seeking professional assessment and/or individualized speech therapy treatments. Areas of service include articulation, early language development, speech delay, motor speech, fluency, social pragmatics, literacy, accent modification, voice, and more!

- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel up to 30-minutes to client homes.
- Proven organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, clients and their families.
- A passion for helping others with their communication goals!
Assets
- 1+ Year(s) providing clinical care, implementing speech and language teaching strategies.
- Previous experience using Alayacare for SOAP notes, or related software
- CDAAC Membership (CDA Position)
- A BSc, or Diploma in a related field
- Interest and experience working with the paediatric population, including children on the spectrum
- Ability to work evenings (3pm-6pm), and weekends to meet client schedules.
