Overview
The Logistics & Shipping /Receiving Manager will be responsible for managing incoming/outgoing shipments, inventory accuracy, focusing on efficiency, safety and compliance while coordinating with other departments to ensure materials flow smoothly, using our internal control software and documentation (like Bill of Ladings) to track goods and resolve discrepancies. The Logistics & Shipping /Receiving Manager will be responsible to comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers' hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration, and weights and dimensions. This position will review schedule requisitions, cargo, running times, distances, and other pertinent information to establish schedule parameters
Duties
- Manage the entire flow of goods, from procurement to delivery.
- Manage NextGen drivers
- Ensure compliance with government regulations
- Plan and coordinate inbound/outbound shipping, optimize routes, and negotiate carrier rates.
- Supervise logistics staff, providing training and direction.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and customers.
- Analyze needs, implement workflow optimizations, and troubleshoot delays.
- Monitor KPIs, maintain records, and ensure adherence to safety/regulatory standards.
- Propose and implement SOPs
- Suggest improvements to processes and software with the ultimate goals of simplification, clarity and consistency
- Generate appropriate logistics/customs documentation including but not limited to Proforma invoices, shippers, repair declarations, TIBs, etc
- Interact and resolve import/export issues with the assistance of our broker

- Monitor and ensure that vehicles are safe and maintained to industry standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian and U.S. driving rules and regulations
- Highly developed understanding of transportation industry regulations, standards, and best practices
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Ability to work flexible hours.
