We build shops — residential, commercial, and farm. Post-frame and wood-framed structures, start to finish. The cladding is the part the customer sees for the next twenty years, and it's the part we're most particular about.
We're looking for someone with 3-5 years on the tools who knows metal. Straight screw lines, correct panel overlap, trims that actually fit at the corners and the ridge. If you can hang panel on a wall and have it look good, we want to talk to you.
This is not an entry-level posting. You should already know how to work safely, run most of the tools, and take your own measurements off a set of drawings.
The cladding work specifically:
- Wall and roof panel installation on post-frame and wood-framed structures
- Correct panel overlap, fastener spacing, and straight screw lines, no wandering rows
- Trim work: base, corner, J-trim, eave and rake, ridge cap, gable trim, closures
- Flashing and trimming out overhead door, man door, and window openings
- Cutting panel cleanly and keeping hot shavings off finished metal
- Working off ladders, scaffold, and lifts at height
- Catching your own deficiencies before the QC walk finds them
If you've also framed post-frame — setting posts, girts, purlins, trusses, bracing — that's a strong plus. Our crews build the structure and clad it, so the more of that sequence you know, the more valuable you are here.
What your day looks like:
- Show up on time, in PPE, ready to go before the huddle starts
- Take your assignments at the morning huddle and get moving
- Complete standard and moderately complex tasks on your own, to a standard that doesn't need correcting
- Check your own work before it moves to the next stage
- Help the 1st and 2nd year guys when they're stuck
- Flag problems to your Lead Hand the moment you see them
- Clean your area and secure materials and tools before you leave
What you need:
- 3-5 years of construction experience, with real time on metal cladding
- Comfortable with hand and power tools; can work from a job sheet and simple drawings
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's licence
- Willing to work outdoors year-round in Alberta weather
- Steel toes worn every day, every site
- Able to lift, climb, and work at heights
Nice to have: first aid, forklift or telehandler experience, post-frame framing experience, own hand tools.
What we're actually looking for. We can teach building. We can't teach these:
- You own your mistakes. If you cut it wrong, you say so right away.
- You show up. On time, ready, 95%+ of the time. If you're going to be late, you call before your start time, not after.
- You don't freelance. The Lead Hand sets the plan. You execute your part and speak up if something's off.
- You're still learning. Every level here has a skills threshold.
- You take pride in how it looks. A crooked screw line is the first thing a customer notices, and the last thing they forget.
What we offer:
- $24-$28/hr based on experience, with a written 90-day review and a planned raise if you're performing
- Year-round work, we're not a seasonal outfit
- A real path forward: Site Assist to 1st through 4th Year to Lead Hand to Site Superintendent, with defined skill thresholds at every step
- Structured training, weekly toolbox talks, and 30/60/90-day reviews
Photos of cladding work you're proud of will move you to the top of the pile.
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Dental care
- Extended health care
