Janitor - Riverside Facility

General Description:
The Fort McKay First Nation is seeking a motivated and multitasking oriented individual who is flexible and works well in a team environment to fill the position of Janitor at the Riverside Facility, reporting directly to the Services Managers. The Janitor will responsible for performing janitorial duties for the Fort McKay First Nation. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential. This is a full-time position working a rotational schedule for 75 hours biweekly.

Duties:
Perform day to day environmental service function as assigned
Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms/bathrooms and other areas as instructed
Cleans all common/public areas including lobbies, sun rooms, offices, restrooms, spas, linen rooms, pantries, dining areas, clean/soiled utilities
Cleans vacant rooms as assigned
Reports cleaning needs and necessary repairs and safety issues to supervisor
Assures that work areas are clean and equipment, supplies, etc. are stored properly when leaving area for breaks and shift end
Performs unit-cleaning procedures when resident is discharged or transferred to another room
Follows the established infection control and universal precaution policies and uses protective equipment when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste and/or body fluids
Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms
Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas
Empty all trash cans and replace liners
Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
Other routine maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Six months or more related experience
Valid Class 5 Driver License
Experience in a First Nations community is a definite asset
Ability to speak, read and write Cree and Dene is an asset
Note: Depending on travel requirements, a valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract may be required.
