Reporting to the Director FP&A, the Financial Analyst role will work closely with assigned company areas to provide a full suite of integrated Finance support services. The successful candidate will bring strong communication, analytical, and technical skills to the role, serving as an effective liaison between Finance and operations.
This role supports The Mobile Shop™ (a fully-owned division of Loblaw Inc). The Mobile Shop is located in over 200 Loblaw and Loblaw-affiliated stores across Canada. As one of the largest multi-carrier retailers, The Mobile Shop offers customers a wide selection of wireless providers in a convenient and customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities
- Prepare annual Budget and quarterly Forecast P&L for the business unit, including discussing financials with the external and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain monthly management reporting packages for the business unit to the stakeholders.
- Review and conduct P&L variance analysis, reconciliation, profitability analysis, and work closely with accounting on accruals and entries
- Reconcile monthly Carrier payments against POS sales transactions
- Process monthly claim submissions and review claims finding with GLENTEL’s carrier partners
- Reconcile POS sales data to carrier systems and Dashboard reporting to Retail management team
- Analyze sales audit reporting summarize findings and financial impacts to senior audiences
- Perform ad-hoc analytics and produce presentation decks to support management for key decisions and meetings
- Act as a key Finance point of contact during the annual planning process, ensuring that assigned company areas adhere to communicated budget timelines
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in business, commerce, accounting or related discipline
- 2+ years of business experience, preferably in Data Analysis, Accounting, or Finance
- 1+ years of budgeting and forecasting experience in a medium to large organization.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including prior experience in use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, filtering and synthesizing large volumes of data
- Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a proven ability to work independently
- Strong technical writing skills, ability to communicate financial information coherently and in a well-thought out manner
- Experienced in PowerPoint with an eye for well-designed presentations
- Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods
- Retail experience is an asset
