The Technology Risk & Controls Manager supports the Compliance Technology team in strengthening the risk and control environment across technology platforms, remediation initiatives, and regulatory-driven delivery. This role manages issue tracking, control documentation, evidence collection, reporting, and coordination across technology, compliance, risk, audit, finance, and product stakeholders.
The role is responsible for executing well-defined activities that support audit readiness, regulatory remediation, technical currency, and governance routines. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, professional communication, and a strong understanding of technology risk, controls, software delivery, and financial services compliance expectations.
Manage the maintenance of technology risk and control documentation aligned to TD enterprise risk standards, compliance obligations, and internal governance expectations.
Manage control inventory updates, control mapping, evidence collection, testing support, and issue management activities across Compliance Technology platforms.
Document control procedures, process flows, risks, dependencies, and supporting artifacts to promote consistency and audit readiness.
Track control health indicators, open actions, and remediation status, escalating gaps or delays to management as appropriate.
Partner with Program and Technical Leads to enable the embedding of controls into SDLC, operational routines, and recurring governance processes.
Manage audit, regulatory, and risk remediation activities, including issue intake, action plan tracking, milestone updates, and validation preparation.
Coordinate with technology teams, Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders to gather information, validate evidence, and support timely responses.
Maintain remediation trackers, status updates, meeting notes, and action item logs to support transparent governance and management reporting.
Lead root cause analysis and issue closure activities by organizing documentation, identifying gaps, and helping prepare materials for review.
Identify recurring themes or process gaps that may require management attention or additional remediation planning.
Manage technical currency and sustainability remediation initiatives by tracking platform risks, aging technology items, resiliency improvements, and control-enabling enhancements.
Document remediation scope, delivery milestones, dependencies, and status reporting across assigned initiatives.
Partner with engineers, business systems analysts, product owners, and delivery leads to collect updates and maintain accurate remediation records.
Ensure remediation documentation reflects long-term operability, auditability, and sustainability considerations.
Manage process improvement activities that improve traceability, reporting quality, and execution discipline.
Manage program financial management routines, including budget tracking, forecast updates, variance commentary, and reconciliation of remediation-related spend.
Maintain clear traceability between remediation work, funding requests, resource plans, and delivery commitments.
Prepare draft reporting materials, dashboards, and supporting analysis for review by management.
Compile data related to run versus change spend, resource allocation, project status, and financial impacts.
Maintain organized records and supporting documentation for financial governance and management review.
Work collaboratively with Compliance Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Audit, Product, and Engineering partners to support delivery of risk and control priorities.
Participate in working groups, governance meetings, and project routines by preparing materials, capturing decisions, and following up on action items.
Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, escalating issues, risks, and dependencies in a timely manner.
Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge, asking questions, and supporting continuous improvement.
Maintain awareness of TD policies, standards, and procedures applicable to technology risk, compliance, information security, and delivery governance.
Undergraduate degree or technical/professional certification, or equivalent relevant experience.
5-7 years of experience in technology, risk management, controls, audit support, compliance, business analysis, project coordination, or financial services operations.
Working knowledge of technology risk management, control documentation, issue tracking, audit support, or regulatory remediation processes.
Familiarity with SDLC concepts, technology delivery governance, data quality controls, application support, or platform resiliency.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear status updates, meeting notes, and reporting materials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms is preferred.
Ability to analyze information, identify inconsistencies, and escalate risks or gaps appropriately.
Demonstrated attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in banking, financial services, compliance technology, surveillance, supervision, or regulatory-driven environments.
Exposure to audit, regulatory examinations, issue management, control testing, or risk assessment activities.
Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and technology project governance.
Basic understanding of technical debt, data quality, application controls, access controls, and operational resilience.
Interest in developing expertise in technology risk, compliance controls, remediation governance, and sustainable technology delivery.
