We are currently recruiting an Accounting Analyst – Margin and Internal Controls for 1 year contrat with a strong possibility of permanency. This position is in our head office, in Ville St-Laurent. The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage some aspects of internal control and follow-up on controls related to gross margin and inventory on a daily basis (inventory adjustments, write-off, vendor claims, month-end analysis). (50%)
  • Follow-up with Operations on issues identified through your analysis;
  • Prepare corresponding journal entries at month-end;
  • Prepare corresponding analysis at month-end, quarter-end and annually;
  • Responsible for the internal controls testing as required by Law 52-109 for Public Company’s and external auditors. (25%)
  • Conduct tests in collaboration with other team members;
  • Supervise and review tests performed by other team members;
  • Summarize test results on a quarterly basis and submit to the Assistant Controller for review;
  • Other accounting tasks at month-end, quarter-end and annually; (15%)
  • Other special projects as per the direction of the Chief Accountant; (10%)
Essential

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, etc);
  • Experience working with an ERP software such as Oracle, SAP, JDE & AS400/DPS;
Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in accounting;
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years accounting experience that includes a solid understanding of month-end process;
  • Able to respect strict deadlines and manage priorities independently;
  • Experience working with numerous sites within a framework of multiple legal entities;
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • Has an analytical mind;
