Salary: $83,850 - 104,813 per annum
Status: Permanent Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of the UHN FM-PRO Redevelopment Projects, the PROJECT MANAGER manages, organizes and orchestrates construction projects from inception through to project close-out. Under the direction of the Manager Redevelopment Projects, the principle responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to effectively manage the user group consultation process; performing financial management activities; preparing schedules and specifications; preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors; hiring and supervising activities of contractors, subcontractors and / or trades people; performing quality management responsibilities; performing administrative and financial management responsibilities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department; performing cross functional duties as assigned and / or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification.
The immediate focus for this position will be the development and implementation of a wide variety of approved capital projects. The successful applicant is an excellent communicator, detailed and tactful in managing stakeholder expectations with considerable experience leading the development of conceptual ideas through to successful completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree program in architecture, engineering science or recognized equivalent
  • Five (5) plus years of progressive and related experience in the construction industry.
  • Construction project management experience in an acute health care, research, and/or hospital facility preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail required.
  • Excellent analytical skills required.
  • Excellent problem recognition and resolution skills required.
  • Experience with furniture and equipment planning and procurement required.
  • Experience with decanting and relocation of personnel, furniture, and installation of medical equipment systems preferred.
  • Ability to produce high quality reports and meet scheduling deadlines required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of codes and standards applicable to acute health care environments.
  • Experience managing tenders in the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives and Supply Chain Guidelines is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Health, and Ministry of Health and Long Term Care capital planning process an asset.
  • Ability to read construction contract documents including drawings, specifications, and legal conditions.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications required.
  • AutoCAD experience and interpreting technical construction drawings preferred.
