Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and completion of steel-related projects. This includes coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and clients to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate has a background in steel fabrication, construction, or industrial manufacturing, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Operations Manager in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and documentation.
- Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and shop drawings.
- Monitor project progress and report on deviations from schedule, budget, or scope.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and clarify project requirements.
- Track material inventory, deliveries, and subcontractor progress.
- Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, and documentation for stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate inspection and quality control procedures in collaboration with QA/QC personnel.
- Support the billing and invoicing process by tracking completed works and verifying against project milestones.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in project coordination or management within the steel or construction industry.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication, erection processes, and material specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Metal Building Systems, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with structural drawings and steel detailing.
- Understanding of welding procedures, bolting, and fabrication processes.
