About the Role
Being a Driving Instructor isn’t for everyone. It’s one of the most challenging and most rewarding jobs you’ll ever do. You’ll be guiding students through one of the most important skills they’ll ever learn. You’ll teach them not only how to pass a test, but how to drive for life safely, confidently, and responsibly.

What You’ll Do
- Provide professional in-vehicle driver training following Young Drivers’ proven curriculum.
- Coach students through their fears, mistakes, and successes with patience and care.
- Teach defensive driving techniques and real-world safety strategies.
- Maintain accurate student progress records and lesson reports.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with students, parents/guardians, and office staff.
- Represent the Young Drivers brand with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications
- Must be legally able to work in British Columbia and hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Must have held a full Class 5 licence for a minimum of 5 years with a clean driving record.
- Ideally, you own a vehicle five years old or less. If the vehicle is older but in excellent condition both inside and out, Young Drivers will review it to determine if it meets program standards.
- Must have your ICBC Driving Instructor certificate.
Training
Successful candidates will complete the Young Drivers Instructor Training Course, which includes classroom and in-vehicle instruction.
- Duration: Approximately 4 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time daytime training
- Cost: There is no cost to selected candidates (course value $6,000+).

Experience
- Driving: 5 years (required)
- Teaching, coaching, or customer service experience: 1 year preferred
Licence/Certification
- BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence held for at least 5 years (required)
