The Financial Analyst is a permanent full-time role located in Calgary and serves as a key business partner by leveraging financial and operational analysis to support informed decision-making across the organization. The role is responsible for participating in all aspects of the financial analysis process, including pre- and post-job analysis and modelling, financial and operational reporting, and budgeting. The role provides financial insight and support to Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations.
The role is integral within the Finance team and provides analysis and reporting to support business performance and profitability. The role also prepares presentations and financial insights for senior management and the executive team, performs job profitability analysis including bids and look-backs, and supports various ad hoc financial and operational activities. Through detailed analysis and reporting, the Financial Analyst helps translate financial data into meaningful insights that support organizational goals and business performance.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Responsibilities:
- Complete end-to-end cost and profitability analysis including modelling and post job analysis
- Assist with monthly reporting and conduct variance analysis against budget
- Assist on special projects to provide analysis and insight of financial feasibility
- Regularly engage with multiple regional and business line leaders to stay updated on business activities, new initiatives, or other items impacting expected results
- Support leaders across the organization in managing their budgets
- Assist with the improvement, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures that support both operational and financial reporting
- Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of the impact of potential business decisions
- Compile, interpret and analyze financial and operating data for the business unit and prepare appropriate reporting based on key performance indicators specific to the industry
- Provide support to the Team Lead, Financial Analysis in various related activities and projects
- All other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Relevant post secondary education such as a bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in engineering (petroleum, mechanical or chemical) or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics from a recognized institution
- Strong operational and technical knowledge of the oilfield service industry
- 3 - 5 years of industry experience
- Strong computer skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced skills in Excel, including ability to construct models from scratch and model company financials
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics including experience with NAV and Jet Reports is an asset
